Most people know Panda Denice Ross from her unforgettable audition on The X-Factor USA’s 2012 season, where she brought the house down with her rendition of Sam Cooke’s “Bring It on Home to Me.” The soulful diva charmed America with her larger than life personality and her “single” necklace, worn for her long time crush Simon Cowell. Panda did the entire performance battling pneumonia. Her audition has received more than 30 million views on YouTube. America was in love. She was also aired in 2013 and 2019 in the UK version of the XFACTOR.
About Panda Ross
She’s a Soulful diva who continues to sing in multiple venues as well as onstage plays. She is a worship leader and the children’s choir director for the Victory Outreach Church of Dallas. Where she has been a member since 1997. She is also a barista at Starbucks where she’s been employed since 2006.
Before Fame
She grew up in Hobbs, New Mexico where she was raised by her grandmother. By the age of 13 she found herself in trouble battling addictions. She has been free of all her addictions since January 25, 1997.
Achievements
After The X Factor, she lost more than 100 pounds and furthered her vocal training to sing in church and other venues across the U.S. She has had the privilege of singing in over 40 states and 3 countries and continues to sing for weddings, parties, business events, and live on stage plays.
Family Life
She has two children and one grand daughter. Her daughter Darlinda graduated with honors from Dallas Baptist University's law school. Her son Darryl graduated from Prairie View and recently received his Master's at UNT and now teaches for Dallas Independent School District. Darryl is a drummer and has had the honor of playing drums at the Super Bowl with the Black Eyed Peas. Her grand daughter Jewel just turned 8 years old and is following in her grandmother's steps singing and acting in onstage plays.
